EDITORIAL OPINION

Our take

By Marco DeLuca ·

The M6 MacBook Pro is most appealing to us when the display and connections solve daily problems. Apple documents a 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR panel, an SDXC slot, HDMI and three Thunderbolt 4 ports. A photographer moving cards between shoots or someone presenting without a separate adapter has a practical reason to consider this chassis. Those conveniences should be weighed against its listed 1.55kg weight, especially for a buyer who mainly writes and browses.

The selected configuration combines 16GB unified memory with a 1TB SSD. We would examine memory requirements before interpreting the Pro badge as unlimited headroom: Apple offers M6 configurations up to 32GB, and large projects require an application-specific assessment. We also keep this model separate from the PROLED machines and M5 Pro or Max configurations. Our recommendation would rest on the exact screen, memory and port requirements, supported by independent workload evidence, rather than a general assumption that a newer chip wins every comparison.
